Who we are

This website is operated by Shanu Quraishi, a digital marketing trainer and consultant based in New Delhi, India. Some services are delivered through Search Extension, my Delhi-based digital marketing agency.

What we collect

I only collect the minimum information needed to respond to enquiries, deliver courses, manage client engagements, and run this website.

Information you give me directly

• Name and contact details: when you fill the contact form, book a demo class, or sign up for the newsletter
• Phone number and email: for replies, course confirmations, and reminders
• Business details: for client engagements (company name, website, industry)
• Course enquiry details: the purpose you select, the message you write, your background if relevant
• Payment details: only if you enrol in a course or sign a service engagement (see Section 7)

Information collected automatically

• Device and browser data: IP address, browser type, device type, screen size, operating system
• Usage data: pages visited, time on page, click paths, referring URLs
• Cookies and similar technologies: see the Cookies section below

How we collect it

I collect information through:

• The contact form on this website (when you fill it out)
• Newsletter signup form in the footer
• Direct WhatsApp, email, or phone calls you initiate
• Course enrolment forms and EMI agreement documents
• Standard web analytics tools (see Section 6)
• Third-party platforms (e.g. YouTube, LinkedIn, Spotify) when you interact with my content there

How we use your information

Your information is used for these specific purposes:

1. To reply to you — if you've contacted me through any channel
2. To deliver courses — class schedules, materials, recordings, certificates, internship coordination
3. To deliver services — for clients who hire me or Search Extension for marketing engagements
4. To send updates — newsletter, batch announcements, important course communications
5. To process payments — including EMI tracking if you choose that option
6. To improve the website — through anonymous analytics
7. To comply with law — e.g. tax records, GST filing, statutory obligations

Sharing & third parties

I share your information only with parties that genuinely need it to deliver what you signed up for:

• Search Extension team members involved in delivering your course or managing your client engagement
• Payment processors (Razorpay, etc.) for transaction handling
• Email and communication tools (e.g. Gmail, Zoom, WhatsApp Business) for normal operations
• Analytics providers (Google Analytics) in an anonymised, aggregated form
• Government authorities if required by law (e.g. tax authorities)

For client engagements that include hiring partner referrals (e.g. placement support after course completion), your CV or LinkedIn profile may be shared with potential employers only with your explicit prior consent.

Cookies & tracking

This website uses a small number of cookies and tracking pixels to function properly and to help me understand which pages are useful.

Essential cookies

Required for the website to work — like remembering your form input or keeping the mobile menu state.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site. This data is anonymised and aggregated — I can't identify you individually from it.

Advertising pixels

The site may include a Meta Pixel and Google Tag Manager for tracking ad performance and showing relevant ads to past visitors. You can opt out by adjusting cookie settings in your browser or visiting Google Ads Settings and Meta Ad Preferences.

Payment data

I do not store your full credit card or bank account numbers. All payments are processed through licensed Indian payment gateways such as Razorpay, which handle card data using PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure.

What I retain after a payment:

• Transaction ID and timestamp
• Amount paid and EMI schedule (if applicable)
• Last 4 digits of the card or UPI ID, for support reference only
• Invoice and GST records as required by Indian tax law

Data retention

How long I keep different kinds of information:

• Enquiry messages from the contact form: up to 2 years, then deleted unless you became a student or client
• Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe (one click in every email)
• Course students: course records, certificates, and class recordings kept indefinitely; you can request deletion of personal data 1 year after course completion
• Client records: kept for the duration of the engagement plus 5 years for tax and statutory obligations
• Analytics data: retained per Google Analytics 4 default settings (14 months for individual records)

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP) and applicable global regulations like GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right to access: request a copy of all personal data I hold about you
• Right to correction: ask me to correct or update any wrong information
• Right to erasure: request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
• Right to withdraw consent: opt out of newsletters or revoke prior consent at any time
• Right to portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Right to grievance redressal: raise concerns and have them addressed in a reasonable timeframe

To exercise any of these rights, email me at ask@shanuquraishi.com with the subject line "Privacy Request — [your name]". I aim to respond within 15 working days.

How we protect your data

Reasonable security measures are in place to protect your information:

• HTTPS encryption on the entire website
• Two-factor authentication on all admin accounts
• Limited access — only myself and the small Search Extension team see client data, on a need-to-know basis
• Regular backups stored in encrypted form
• Payment processing handled by PCI-DSS compliant providers (we never see full card numbers)

That said, no system is 100% secure. If a data breach occurs that could impact you, I will notify affected individuals within 72 hours as required by law.

Minors & children

This website and its services are intended for adults aged 18 and above. I do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information, please email me and I'll delete the records.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated occasionally to reflect changes in the law or in how we operate. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always shows the most recent revision. Significant changes will be notified by email to existing students, clients, and newsletter subscribers.
